UK 🇬🇧/Israel 🇮🇱:

A pro-Palestinian activist sprayed and cut a historical painting of the British statesman Lord Balfour at the University of Cambridge.

The conservative politician lent his name to the Balfour Declaration – a public statement issued by the British government regarding the creation of a Jewish homeland in Palestine, paving the way for the foundation of Israel in 1948. The declaration, made in 1917, was contained in a letter from Balfour to Lord Rothschild, a British Jewish leader.
