I don't know if Thomas Barcellar is still alive, but in every class he would repeat:
"Discontent is usually ungrateful, and ungrateful is usually traitorous."
All good feelings come from gratitude; even a stray dog has it.
Or as Fernando Pessoa declared over 100 years ago:
