In a bold operation, the Spanish Air Force successfully extracted Edmundo González from Venezuela. The Venezuelan opposition leader, recognized as the legitimate winner of the elections according to disclosed tallies, had an arrest warrant issued by dictator Nicolás Maduro. However, he was flown out of the country last night on a Spanish military plane and has been granted political asylum in Spain.



María Corina Machado's statement on Edmundo González's exile in Spain: According to her, the Venezuelan opposition leader, who was the legitimate winner based on 81% of the tallied results, was forced to leave the country due to persecution, threats, and arrest warrants issued by Maduro's dictatorship.
